Our Journey of Appreciation
We must admit, when the first fires made the news in November 2019, we didn't think much of it.
Selfishly, when they started affecting our customers in the wine community in December, we started paying more attention.
And even more selfishly, when we saw smoke rising from behind our home office in Sunbury on New Years Day, we got a relatively very small appreciation for the effect of fire.
Our Relatively Tame Experience
Within minutes, there was a helicopter on scene, giving us immediate reassurance "they're on it."
Within an hour, there were 2 more helicopters in the air dropping water and multiple fire trucks in our backyard.
Even after they got the fire under control that day, we could see firefighters working all night in the dark making sure we were safe while we slept.
Our Small Way of Helping
We are personally grateful for the effort and sacrifice of all the good people working to help with the fires and sincerely sympathise with those affected.
